Progress! – Permitting well on it’s way!

Yesterday, Shephills along with our architect firm, Heimsath Architects, presented the plans for construction to the City of West Lake Hills Building Design Committee (“BDC”) as the first step in obtaining the building permit.  The BDC is an official city committee to perform a first review of building permit applications prior to submission to the zoning and planning commission (“ZAPCO”).  BDC consists of two members from ZAPCO and one member from the city council.

ShepHills received a unanimous vote to proceed to the ZAPCO meeting (scheduled for January 17th, 2018) along with affirmations about how well the plans meet the city’s building objectives for community enhancement.

In addition, we have a separate meeting with the city on January 10th to finalize the remaining variances for the front landscape and sign for Shephills.  The result of this meeting will finalize the remaining items for the permit.

The final hurdle will be the City council meeting on January 24th to approve our permit application.  Once that is approved, we expect the City to issue the building permit within the following week whereby we can begin CONSTRUCTION! (on or about February 1, 2018 starting in the Activity center (gym)).

Please plan on attending our Congregation meeting Part 2 on January 28th after the late service that includes a GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY!
